On May 21, 2024, the president Emmanuel Macron announced at the Elysee palace the result of IA Cluster program, a flagship initiative of France 2030. The PR[AI]RIE - Paris School of AI (PR[AI]RIE-PSAI) led by PSL University and involving Paris Cité University, CNRS, Inria and Institut Pasteur, was awarded €75M, the highest amount among nine laureates.
Built on the Institut PR[A]IRIE set up in 2019 and bringing together the same partners, the PR[AI]RIE-PSAI is a key driver of education, research and innovation in AI, aiming at to position France as a global leader of this strategic breakthrough technology.
Regarding education, PR[AI]RIE-PSAI will offer a comprehensive curriculum from undergraduate to doctoral studies, including innovative interdisciplinary programs and lifelong training. The aim is to create top-level public courses, based on the latest scientific innovations and suited to every stage of students' professional lives.
From a research point of view, by bringing together the expertise of unique partners, PR[AI]RIE-PSAI will significantly increase the number of new theses on AI, contributing thereby to the advancement of this discipline on a global level. Furthermore, the cutting-edge research of the Institut PR[AI]RIE will be boarded by extension to other disciplines, including Humanities and Arts.
Innovation will be promoted by the implementation of entrepreneurship programs and active support for the creation of start-ups, with the aim of fostering the emergence of 50 new deep tech companies by 2030.
The results of the France 2030 IA Cluster program are a major milestone in the development of AI in France and confirm the key role of PR[AI]RIE-PSAI in promoting innovation and excellence in this strategic field.
