We are thrilled to announce that our researchers won several ERC Grants this year:
Benoit Chassaing (ERC Consolidator) has obtained the funding for his InterBiome project “Exploring functional inter-individual variations in the intestinal microbiome for personalized nutrition”
Michael White (ERC Consolidator) has obtained the funding for his ULTIMASero project “Understanding Long-term Trends in Multi-pathogen Epidemiology in Africa using Multiplex Serological and Molecular Assays “
Brice Bathellier (corresponding PI, ERC Synergy) together with Srdjan Ostojic, Virginie Van Wasserhove and Mehrdad Jazayeri have obtained the funding for their CHRONOLOGY project “The geometry of temporal cognitive maps”.
Ivo Gomperts Boneca (corresponding PI*, ERC Synergy) together with Christophe Zimmer and Marc Brönstrup have obtained the funding for their AI4AMR project “Deep learning analysis of imaging and metabolomic data to accelerate antibiotic discovery against antimicrobial resistance”
The ERC Consolidator Grant aims to support outstanding scientists and scholars as they establish their independent research teams and develop their most promising scientific ideas. The funding is provided through the EU’s Horizon Europe programme.
The ERC Synergy Grant is one of the most prestigious funding opportunities, allowing researchers to address any ambitious research problem. These grants require the combined expertise of two to four research groups, with each PI playing an equally important, indispensable, and irreplaceable role. ERC Synergy proposals are evaluated solely on the criterion of scientific excellence, which includes demonstrating an exceptional synergetic effect.
At the Grants Office, we are committed to supporting researchers in securing competitive European funding. We encourage all scientists at the Institut Pasteur to reach out to us for assistance in preparing their proposals. Our team provides guidance throughout the application process to help achieve the best possible outcomes.

Once again, congratulations to Michael, Benoit, Ivo, Christophe and Brice for these outstanding achievements!
