We're excited to share the success of our recent seminar that was held on September 18-20, 2023, at Institut Pasteur Guyane. Over the course of these three enlightening days, researchers from Institut Pasteur Guyane and Institut Pasteur Guadeloupe had the opportunity to delve into dedicated funding opportunities and gain valuable insights on effective proposal writing.

The objective of this seminar led by the Grants Office (GO) team was twofold: first, to inform researchers about the various funding opportunities available to them, and second, to provide them with the necessary skills to write compelling research proposals.

Exploring Funding and Proposals Over Three Dynamic Days

The seminar featured a series of informative sessions. Our main goal was to shed light on the various funding opportunities available and provide practical tips on crafting compelling proposals. The sessions were designed to successfully equip researchers with the tools and insights needed to navigate the complex world of grant applications.

Personalized Connections with Laboratory Heads

We covered a wide range of topics, from identifying suitable funding opportunities to aligning project goals with the priorities of potential funders (European Commission, ANR, NIH, etc.). In addition to the formal sessions, we arranged one-to-one meetings between the GO team and the heads of labs. This personalized approach allowed researchers to engage in meaningful discussions, seek advice, and build valuable connections with the GO team.

Rich Exchanges with Researchers

The interactions and discussions with researchers were incredibly fruitful. The depth of insights shared, and the diverse perspectives brought forward enriched the entire seminar experience.

Looking Ahead: Expanding Collaborations

With newfound insights and a clearer understanding of funding opportunities, we hope that researchers from IP Guyane and IP Guadeloupe, members of the Pasteur Network, are now better equipped to pursue their ambitions. Building on this success, we aspire to extend the model to Institut Pasteur's departments and other institutions within the Pasteur Network. We believe that these exchanges are essential in creating a vibrant ecosystem for scientific progress.

We would like to thank all the researchers who attended the seminar, as their active participation and enthusiasm contributed to the success of the event. Together, let us continue to unlock funding opportunities, drive scientific progress, and pave the way for groundbreaking discoveries.
