Mark your calendars: A two-day immersion into immune variability and healthy aging
By Mercè Guzmán Vendrell, Project Manager – GO

For 15 years, the LabEx Milieu Intérieur has been dedicated to decoding the factors that shape immune response variability in healthy human populations. This year, for the second consecutive year, we are pleased to host a special double meeting spotlighting one of the most influential drivers of immune variation: age.
Join us this October for two unmissable events exploring how our immune systems change across the lifespan.

Conference: “Immune Variability across the Life Course”
October 29, 2026 — Émile Duclaux Amphitheatre
We are delighted to announce the first joint conference between SysAge and the LabEx Milieu Intérieur, two leading European cohorts at the forefront of immunology and aging research. Titled “Immune Variability across the Life Course”, this one-day international symposium will take place on October 29, 2026, in the Émile Duclaux Amphitheatre.
Aligned with Scientific Priority 4 of the Institut Pasteur 2030 Strategic Plan — “Health and Disease at the Extremes of Life” — the conference will feature four dedicated sessions examining the evolving immune system and its variability through key life stages:
Early childhood
Adulthood and mid-life changes
Older age
Strategies for healthy aging
To ensure a comprehensive view of immune variability across life, the symposium will bring together internationally renowned experts, including Yasmine Belkaid, President of the Institut Pasteur, and Rose-Anne Kenny, Chair of Geriatric Medicine at Trinity College Dublin.
Whether you are a researcher, clinician, or student with a passion for human immunology and healthy aging, this event offers a unique opportunity to engage with cutting-edge science.

Annual Meeting of the LabEx Milieu Intérieur
October 30, 2026 — Émile Duclaux Amphitheatre
The following day, we invite you to the Annual Meeting of the LabEx Milieu Intérieur, where the team will present a selection of its latest work.
For 15 years, the LabEx Milieu Intérieur has pursued a central scientific question: What are the determinants of variability in the human immune response? This year’s meeting will feature a morning of presentations highlighting the project’s most recent advances.
The Milieu Intérieur cohort continues to generate valuable datasets and findings that enrich immunological research across the global scientific community. We look forward to welcoming you in large numbers to discover them!
