On November 25, the INCEPTION program, funded by the ANR and coordinated by the Institut Pasteur, held its annual symposium, bringing together around 100 participants for a full day of scientific exchanges and discussions.

The 2025 edition introduced a new format, open to the public, and structured around two complementary sessions.

The afternoon began with a series of lectures devoted to genome-wide association studies (GWAS). This session brought together a panel of internationally renowned speakers: Na Cai (ETH Zurich), Sriram Sankararaman, Iuliana Ionita-Laza, and Bogdan Pasaniuc, alongside contributors from the INCEPTION consortium, including Capucine Garnier-Muller, who presented the INCEPTION data catalog, Eli Barthome, a doctoral student funded by INCEPTION, and Raphael Malak, a member of one of the INCEPTION G5s.

This session addressed the main methodological and scientific challenges in this field and encouraged active exchanges with the audience, notably through ten lightning talks by speakers from the poster session that followed.

The symposium then continued with a multidisciplinary poster session, highlighting the diversity of research conducted within the consortium. More informal and interactive, this session encouraged discussions across disciplines and fostered exchanges between senior scientists, early-career researchers, and doctoral students.

Feedback from participants was very positive, highlighting the richness of the discussions and the opportunities to network with colleagues from different research backgrounds. We would like to warmly thank all speakers, poster presenters, and participants for their contribution to the success of this event, and we look forward to continuing these exchanges during future INCEPTION activities.
