Institut Pasteur coordinates one of the two projects funded in the European call “Pandemic preparedness and response: Understanding vaccine-induced immunity”.

Giovanna Barba-Spaeth from the structural virology unit is coordinating this ambitious project gathering 12 partners from 7 countries. Together, they will deconstruct the protective immunity of yellow fever virus 17D to inform flavivirus vaccine design. They will use a multidisciplinary approach combining molecular and structural virology, cell biology, innate and adaptive immunology, clinical immunology and social sciences and humanities. This 8M€ project received the maximum score from the evaluation panel and will produce many great results for the next 5 years.
