European calls are often generous but are complex and demand heavy setup. ANR created the annual call MRSEI (Montage de Réseaux Scientifiques Européens ou Internationaux) with the aim to give French based researchers the edge when it comes to setting up and coordinating these consortiums.
They provide up to €36,000 for a period of 24 months and they fund actions to develop or strengthen the scientific network (travel expenses, meetings, receptions, etc.) and/or the provision of services (such as an expert consultant to review the technical proposal) and/or staff expenses to assist the coordinator in setting up the European or international project.
It is important to know that MRSEI covers the “single step” European and International calls. Also, the target European call deadline should be at least 5 months away when submitting.
The submission process is continuous during the year and there are two evaluation sessions; the first one is behind us, but do not fret, you can still submit for the 2nd (and last) evaluation session for 2025; deadline the 15th of September at 13h. The indicative calendar is:
Opening: mid-Mai 2025
Submission deadline 15th of September 2025, at 13h
Evaluations and selection of the applications: November 2025
Launch: End of December 2025
