The Grants Office together with the DEI and CARE organized a first "speed dating" event designed to support postdocs in demystifying grant applications and in enhancing their communication skills. Our goal was to help postdocs navigate the grant application process, improve their research project presentation, and, more broadly, address the unique challenges faced by postdocs approaching the grant writing process. This event also offered a great opportunity to network with peers.

Postdocs prepared a one-page proposal and up-to-date CV presenting their track record ahead of the event. During the “speed dating” meetings on July 1st, 19 postdocs had the opportunity to discuss their grant application with scientists and Grants Office representatives. In between these discussions, they met with the Career Development Service for Scientists (CARE) and the Scientific Programming and Incentive Actions (SPAIS) staff for further advice and funding exploration.
This event was successful thanks to participation of researchers Hugues ASCHARD, Camille BERTHELOT, Glenda COMAI, Aleksandra DECZKOWSKA, Francesca DI NUNZIO, Carla SALEH who made the time to meet with the selected postdocs and give them feedback on their grant applications, as well as to participating GO members Maëlle Pichard (head of Europe division), Olivier Schaetzle (project officer & grant advisor for MSCA-PF), Shauna Lee Katz (senior grant writer & liaison for public private partnerships) and Ksenia Bagrintseva (senior grant writer & ERC expert). We would also like to congratulate the postdocs for their active participation and the CARE and SPAIS teams for their valuable contribution to this event!
