Five new ERC grants at Pasteur: 1 Advanced (2022), 2 Starting (2023) and 2 Synergy (2023)

ERC (European Research Council) grants are amongst the most prestigious and competitive European funding schemes. This year, 5 ERC grants were awarded to researchers at Pasteur. Guillaume Dumenil (INSERM), Director of the Department “Cell Biology and Infection” and head of the unit “Pathogenesis of vascular infections”, has obtained an ERC AdG for his project “DESTOP: Destabilizing vascular colonization to stop meningitis”. Laura Cantini (CNRS), head of the G5 junior group “Machine learning for integrative genomics”, has obtained an ERC StG for her project “MULTIview-Cell: Integration of single-cell multi-omics data across space and time to unlock cellular trajectories”. Daria Bonazzi (INSERM), permanent researcher in the unit of G. Dumenil, has obtained an ERC StG for her project “HOMEPATH: Control of Host Mechanics by a Bacterial Pathogen and Functional Impact”. Thomas Gregor, head of the unit “Physics of biological function” has obtained an ERC Synergy Grant and will coordinate the project “DynaTrans: Transcription in 4D: the dynamic interplay between chromatin architecture and gene expression in developing pseudo-embryos". Roberto Toro, head of the unit “Applied and theoretical Neuroanatomy” has obtained an ERC Synergy Grant with 3 other PIs for their project “UNFOLD: Unfolding the dynamic interplay of mechanical and molecular processes in brain folding”.
