Identifying new funding opportunities is highly beneficial. The Grants Office (GO) is actively working to discover new or unseen funders that align with your research needs. Through your own network, you may also come across non-traditional funders that might be of interest to your projects. However, it is essential to assess the compatibility of unknown funders with Institut Pasteur’s policies before you submit your proposal.

The GO needs at least two weeks to check numerous elements such as eligibility, legal status, origin of funds, rules of participation, indirect cost rate, or intellectual property policy, and to consult other support services (such as the finance and legal departments, the DARRI, and the security and safety officer)  to validate the funder.

Institut Pasteur is open to new funding opportunities as long as the funder's terms are compatible with its policies and values.

Before applying, consider the credibility and values promoted by the funder, as the Institut Pasteur cannot accept funding from unreliable sources (see the recently updated Note d’organisation n°149 : Financeurs externes exclus ou nécessitant une vigilance particulière).

It is crucial to ensure there is no legal, financial, scientific, or reputational risk for you, your laboratory, and Institut Pasteur as a whole.
