EU4Health 2025 Work Programme Published & Call opportunities

The European Commission has officially released the EU4Health Work Programme 2025, with an overall budget of €555 million. This new programme sets out funding priorities across crisis preparedness, disease prevention, data infrastructures and regulatory implementation.
Key highlights include:
- Crisis Preparedness: €381 million, mostly managed by the Health Emergency Preparedness and Response Authority (HERA). 
Calls of interest (published 04/9, deadline 4/12/2025):
- EU4H-2025-HERA-PJ-1-a: Call for proposals to support the development of innovative medical countermeasures for chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear threats (HERA) - Medicinal products 
- EU4H-2025-HERA-PJ-1-c: Call for proposals to support the development of innovative medical countermeasures for chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear threats (HERA) - Detection and diagnosis 
- EU4H-2025-HERA-PJ-2: Call for proposals for the development of new diagnostic tests for vector-borne diseases (HERA) 
- Health & Disease Prevention: - European Health Data Space: ~€40 millions 
- Prevention initiatives: €7.6 millions 
- Implementation of EU regulatory frameworks 
 
- Major public health challenges, including cancer, cardiovascular diseases and other non-communicable diseases: ~€61 million across several calls. 
- HTA Regulation implementation: €11.3 million 
- Clinical Trials Regulation (CTR) implementation €6.5 million 
- Medical Devices & IVD Regulations (MDR/IVDR) implementation: €18.7 million
