In December 2023, the Grants Office organized an informative ERC Round Table, providing prospective applicants with the opportunity to gain firsthand knowledge from esteemed ERC experts. The ERC grant is one of the most prestigious funding opportunities that allows researchers to conduct groundbreaking research at the frontiers of science, with Excellence as the sole evaluation criterion. The Round Table brought together distinguished experts, including an ERC Council member, a panel member, successful ERC laureates and Grants Office experts: Margaret Buckingham, former member of the ERC Scientific Council; Laure Bally-Cuif, ERC CoG panel member and laureate of an ERC AdG and an ERC Synergy; Aleksandra Deczkowska, ERC StG – 2022; Romain Levayer, ERC StG - 2017 and CoG – 2022; Maëlle Pichard, EU division head, Grants Office; Ksenia Bagrintseva, Senior Grant Writer, ERC expert, Grants Office.
They generously shared their experiences and provided invaluable advice on how to succeed in this fierce competition. The event was recorded to ensure that all potential future candidates could benefit from the knowledge shared. The recorded sessions are available on the ePasteur platform.
