Just as researchers engage with their disciplines and their peers, research management professionals actively participate in global networks to advance our field, such as the International Network of Research Management Societies (INORMS). Fresh from the INORMS Congress 2025 – hosted by the European Association of Research Managers and Administrators (EARMA) in Madrid from May 6 to 8, 2025 - our Grants Office team returns energized with renewed strategies and global perspectives to elevate our support for your grant proposals and funded projects.
This landmark event united over 2,200 research management leaders from around the world, making it the largest gathering of its kind. Under the theme "a sustainable profession in a sustainable world," the Congress offered a rich program of sessions, including:
🔷 Building Better RMA Services 🔷 Proposal, Award, and Project Management 🔷 Governance and Regulation 🔷 Knowledge Valorization 🔷 Open Science 🔷 Responsible Use of AI in Research Management 🔷 Transnational Collaborations 🔷 Sustainability in RMA 🔷 Responsibility, Ethics, and EDI (Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion) in Research and Innovation
Our Grants Office team contributed actively to the congress, shaping the program, leading discussion tables, presenting posters and participating in lively exchanges on pre-award and post-award solutions. Beyond the formal sessions, we forged connections with our peers from institutions in Europe and worldwide—discussing shared challenges in funding navigation, compliance, and streamlining collaborative research. A three-minute summary of the event was prepared by the organizers and is available here.
The INORMS Congress highlighted how global knowledge-sharing strengthens research management and administration. We are currently evaluating how to integrate relevant insights into potential refinements of our services and more effective support for your work.
